Aid station food and amazing volunteers

Kettle100Owl.png

Aid stations will be well stocked with food. We are proud to serve Gnarly drink. Food will be typical ultra-fare. Gnarly Fuel20/Limeade is mixed to be 100 calories per 13 ounces of water.

We like to choose a lot of grab and go foods. Meal type foods at later aid stations. Hot soups. Vegan options. If you are picky you can have food in your drop bags. We aim to make sure you will find plenty to eat at the stations.

We need volunteers- email if interested!

We will have first aid kits and sanitary pads at aid stations.

Volunteer requirements: 8 hour of volunteer work required any where you live run race. You can do this near your home as a trail volunteer, race volunteer, or another way of volunteering that helps your local community. We encourage you to share your volunteer work on the Kettle Moraine 100 Training Page on facebook. Spread kindness.

.

Things to note:

  • Drop bags will leave Nordic at 7 am to go to location. They are returned when aid station closes.

  • Each 100 mile, 100k, 50k and 38 mile fun runner gets a parking pass at packet pickup. If you forget your parking pass then you will need to purchase a new one on race day.

  • 100 mile team relays get one parking pass per team.

  • Any visitors to the course should have 5.00 cash ready to purchase a parking pass.

  • Runners should speak when they see horses - a silent human is a deadly human according to a horse.

  • Respect no parking signs. We have been warned that cars will be towed or ticketed.

  • In areas that parking is allowed - all 4 tires need to be off the road.

  • Be prepared to not find a parking spot. You can drop off a crew member to care for your runner, and wait somewhere else.

  • NO CREW ACCESS aid stations rules need to be followed. We will have you leave the course with your crew if they come there.

  • Full rules, for runner and crew linked here

  • One pacer at a time on course, but runners can have multiple pacers. All pacers must sign waiver before getting on the race course. This is the pacers responsibility. Do not take a bib and get on the race course without signing the waiver online.

  • No car camping at Wisconsin State Parks. This includes the Nordic Parking Lot. There are several hotels in the area for a good night’s sleep prior to the race. Plan ahead.

  • We will give you your parking pass at Friday’s packet pick up. If you forget it at your hotel room, then you will need to purchase one when you arrive to the park. Please put in your window as soon as you get in the car so this does not happen.

There is only 3 hard cut offs

18 hours to leave Nordic to finish last 38 miles- Midnight

Rice Lake 6:30 am

Bluff: 10 am Sunday

100k cutoff- you can stay on course as long as you are through Horserider aid station by 11 pm, then hit the cut offs for every aid station after that. They are all stations that are open for the 100 mile race.

All other aid stations you need to be in and out of before they close. Each of those stations are set a little more generous in cut off times. I personally have come back from the dead in a 100 mile race, I know you can too. You can do it!

Please keep drop bags to a small duffel bag size. Approximately 20 X 15 by 10 inches. We do not accept large coolers, or bags that are excessive in weight.
